Johannes Wiest published an article in ‘Molecular Pharmaceutics’ entitled “Geometrical and structural dynamics of Imatinib within biorelevant colloids." The article details the solubilization of Imatinib in simulated gastrointestinal fluids at the molecular levels. The article provides a blueprint for further studies aiming at improving bioavailability of poorly water-soluble drugs by effectively deploying the natural micelle dynamics while maximizing bioavailability.

    Congratulations to Johannes & team!

Alexandra Braun & team published an article in the Journal of Controlled Release entitled ‘Bioresponsive release of insulin-like growth factor-I from its PEGylated conjugate’. “PEGylation of protein-ligands, the attachment of polyethylene glycol (PEG) polymers to a therapeutic protein, increases therapeutics’ half-life but frequently comes at the cost of reduced bioactivity. We are now presenting a bioinspired strategy leading out of this dilemma” (copied from article abstract). Congratulations to Alexandra & team!
