Slamming this topic, Tobias Miesler participated at the 2nd Science Slam at the 7th Annual Meeting of the House of Pharma in Frankfurt. After public voting by the audience, he was rewarded with the 3rd place, including 1000 € prize money. Congratulations!Mehr
Johannes Wiest published an article in ‘Molecular Pharmaceutics’ entitled “Geometrical and structural dynamics of Imatinib within biorelevant colloids." The article details the solubilization of Imatinib in simulated gastrointestinal fluids at the molecular levels. The article provides a blueprint for further studies aiming at improving bioavailability of poorly water-soluble drugs by effectively deploying the natural micelle dynamics while maximizing bioavailability.
Congratulations to Johannes & team!Mehr
The 6th Galenusworkshop was organized from the 6th to 7th of November in the beautiful Neubaukirche in Würzburg. With more than 70 participants, the meeting intended to foster and truly sparked the education of young scientists with 15 lectures in the field of bioresponsive drug delivery systems.Mehr

From April 10th - 13th 2018 delegations from the Universities of Soochow and Zhejiang (China) visited us.
Our University, and in particular the Chair for Drug Formulation and Delivery, has been conducting joint research projects with them for several years.Mehr
Alexandra Braun & team published an article in the Journal of Controlled Release entitled ‘Bioresponsive release of insulin-like growth factor-I from its PEGylated conjugate’. “PEGylation of protein-ligands, the attachment of polyethylene glycol (PEG) polymers to a therapeutic protein, increases therapeutics’ half-life but frequently comes at the cost of reduced bioactivity. We are now presenting a bioinspired strategy leading out of this dilemma” (copied from article abstract). Congratulations to Alexandra & team!Mehr
